Elizabeth Tokarchick

Elizabeth “Betty” Tokarchick, age 90 years of Niles, Michigan died on Monday, October 20, 2014 following an extended illness. She was born December 14, 1923 in Simpson, Pennsylvania to John and Anna (Gettsy) Klimkowski.

Betty was a member of Saint Nectarios Orthodox Church in South Bend. She taught sewing lessons and was an excellent seamstress.

On April 29, 1944 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Betty married Andrew Tokarchick, he preceded her in death on July 8, 2003.

Betty is survived by her children, Karen E. (& Marc Cozzi) Brewster of Niles and Andrew R. “Rick” (& Susan) Tokarchick of Wayland, Michigan; four grandchildren, Kelly Rickards, Erin (& Paul) Abueva, Michael Tokarchick and Jason Tokarchick and two great-grandchildren Joshua Rickards and Tristan Berry.

Betty was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betty” Tokarchick will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with The Reverend Father Robert Bower of Saint Nectarios Orthodox Church of South Bend. Interment will follow at Mission Hills, Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-8:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the funeral home with the Panachyda Service beginning at 7:30p.m.

Donations in memory of Betty may be made to Saint Nectarios Orthodox Church in South Bend or to Hospice at Home.
