Dorothy Hojara

Dorothy May Hojara, age 89 years of Rock Hill, South Carolina and formerly of Niles, Michigan died on Monday, July 14, 2014 at her home in South Carolina following a brief illness.

She was born on December 10, 1924 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to William George and Florence C. (Diehl) Muff. She lived most of her life in Niles, and had been employed as a cook in several area restaurants.

Dorothy enjoyed handwork, especially knitting and crochet. She also loved animals.

On April 4, 1972 in Bartow, Florida she married Victor Hojara with whom she celebrated the Twenty-fifth anniversary of their wedding prior to his death on March 25, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Falkner.
Surviving family includes a son, Maxwell (& Shirley) Hendershott of Rock Hill; and two brothers, Arden Muff of Zephyrhills, Florida and Duane Muff of Silver Springs, Florida.

Services for Dorothy M. Hojara will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at The Graveside at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles with the Rev. Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church in Niles officiating.

Contributions in memory of Dorothy may be made to Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill, or to the Humane Society of York County, in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
