Niles

Dorothy Mae Burrows, 98 of Niles, died July 15, 2024 after a long struggle, the doctors thought, would have ended four years ago.

She was born to Paul and Rose Felthouse in Dowagiac, on January 4, 1926. On September 14, 1947 she married William R. Burrows, he passed May 23, 1993.

Dorothy Loved being with her family. On Sundays, family would get together with her for the Sunday Morning Breakfast Club. Dorothy made holidays special for her family; amazing meals at Thanksgiving and magical Christmases even without much money. She was a “Story Teller” and could hold people captive with her stories of the old days. She also looked forward to conversations with her long distance nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a excellent cook with her signature meals being, home- made rolls and her chicken and noodles. She also liked to be outside either gardening or sitting on the porch enjoying the day.

Dorothy will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her two sons, Paul William (Sue) Burrows, William R Burrows II; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband William R. Burrows; her daughter in law, Donna Burrows; her sister, Shirley Servis and her brother Robert Felthouse.

A private service will take place. Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.
