Doretta Ditsch

Niles – Doretta L. Ditsch, 84, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 in her home.
Doretta was born on August 3, 1933 in Palestine, IL to the late Carl W. and Cleo (Wyman) Henry. On June 17, 1950, in River Park Methodist Church, Doretta married August J. Ditsch, Sr. and “Augie” passed away on December 22, 2003. A daughter, Barbara J. Hawes, passed away on June 24, 2001.
Doretta is survived by her sister, Barbara Castello; two sons, August J. (Brenda) Ditsch, Jr. of South Bend, and Terry J. (Bev) Ditsch, of Cassopolis; daughter, Susanna J. (John) MacDonald of South Bend; 7 grandchildren, Danielle (Troy) Ditsch, Amber Ditsch, Michael (Connie) Ditsch, Joshua (Tammy) Ditsch, Liddy (Matt) Buwa, Brenda (Kenny) Hawkins, Melissa (Charles) Roach; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Doretta was a member of the First Missionary Church in Niles. She belonged to the Hospice Support Group and she enjoyed going to the movies, her movie magazines and watching daytime TV.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in HALBRITTER WICKENS FUNERAL HOME, 615 E. Main St., Niles, with Pastor Dan Miller of Summit Church officiating. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, IN.
