Donna Ruth Stewart, age 81, of Niles, Michigan died at 2:25 AM on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Arlington Heights, Illinois following a brief illness.
She was born on November 23, 1932 in Silver Creek Township, in Cass County, Michigan to Charles W. and Ruth E. (Knee) Dohm and was raised on the family farm. Donna graduated from Dowagiac High School and spent her entire life in the Southwest Michigan area.
Donna attended the Bertrand Bible Church in Niles. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening where she grew beautiful flowers and numerous vegetables for canning and freezing. She also loved reading, sewing, crafts, old hymns, and classical music, but her greatest joy was her family; her husband, children, and especially her grandchildren.
On February 26, 1956 at Daily Bible Church, Daily, Michigan she married Robert W. Stewart and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Stewart and by their daughters, Kathleen R. (Jeff) Clegg of Arlington Heights, Illinois and Marcia E. (Keith) Cross of Daggett, Michigan; grandchildren Jessica E. Cross and Kyleigh N. Cross; and by Donna’s sister, Myrna L. VanTuyle of Dowagiac, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and six siblings; Hazel (Dohm) Price, Ernest W. Dohm, Kenneth C. Dohm, Edward H. Dohm, Charles F. Dohm, and Lorna F. (Dohm) Bauer.
