Dennis Leroy Booth, age 63 years of Niles, Michigan died on Saturday, December 27, 2014. He was born October 31, 1951 in Niles to Victor and Annabelle (Archer) Booth.
Dennis attended Niles High School and Southwest Michigan College where he studied Machine Tool Technology and developed the skill of welding. He was employed the Niles Steel Tank Company in Niles for over 30 years. He had a great respect for nature and the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting and fishing, snowmobiling and dirt biking, snow skiing and water skiing. He used his natural carpentry abilities to build the family home and his electronics knowledge to build, fly and teach others about his radio control airplane hobby. Dennis was a likeable person who made friends easily, and he was always willing to help a friend.
On November 22, 1980 in Huntington, Indiana, Dennis married the former Mary Smith. She survives in Niles as well as his siblings, Dorothy Booth of Granger, Mike (& Cecilia) Booth of Dowagiac, Michigan and their daughter, Valerie (& Brent) Frick, and Dennis twin sister, Denise Tecsi of Niles; and niece Shannon Fouche. Also surviving are Marys mother, Dorma Smith of Huntington, Indiana; and Marys sisters, Deborah (& Stuart) Frumer of Cochecton, New York and their daughter, Megan, and Jo Ellen Ehler of Huntington and her children, Tony Ehler and Katie Ehler.
Services for Dennis Leroy Booth will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Chaplain Chas Brothers officiating. Interment will be at Mission Hills at a later date.
