Deborah Buwa

Deborah Ann Buwa, age 60 years, of Niles died on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at her home following an extended illness. She was born December 25, 1952 to Robert A. & Emma (Jann) Schram. On February 8, 1969 she married David Buwa, who survives. The couple married again on January 8, 2005.

Deborah drove the wheelchair van for Southwestern Michigan Community Ambulance Service (SMCAS) for over 15 years. She was a natural caretaker who loved to cook for and feed others. She enjoyed shopping yard sales and was an animal lover.

Deborah is survived by her husband David of Niles, sons Kenny Buwa of Niles and Marvin (& Joni) Buwa of South Bend, daughter, Missy (& Steven) Barenie of Edwardsburg, 5 grandchildren, Desiree Buwa, Haylee Buwa, Lindzee Buwa, Mason Barenie, and Landon Barenie, 3 step-grandchildren, Chris Swartz, Don Swartz and Amanda Batiz and one step-great-granddaughter, Marilyn Swartz. Deborah is also survived by siblings, Sharon Schram of Niles, Richard Schram of Buchanan, Michigan Mike Schram of Manistee, Michigan, Randy Schram of South Bend, Rick Schram of Buchanan, Jack Schram and Mick Schram, both of Niles.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Terri Bailey and sister-in-law and friend, Evelyn Schram.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Randy Schram of the family officiating. Interment will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8:00p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the funeral home.
