Deborah Kay Arnold, age 67 years of Niles, Michigan died peacefully at 6:53 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana following an extended illness.
She was born on June 12, 1951 in South Bend to Kenneth R. and Garnet M. (Edwards) Coleman. She attended Brandywine Community Schools, and has lived in Niles all of her life. She enjoyed watching movies on television at home, and was a great fan of the former weekly television show “The Golden Girls”, continuing to watch those episodes as reruns. Her family remembers her great cooking, especially her special recipe for lasagna with garlic bread, and on the barbeque she made a great shish kebab.
Debbie was first married to Thomas Willard Hite who preceded her in death in 1979. Later, she married Paul Arnold who also preceded her in death, as have her parents Ken and Garnet Coleman.
Surviving family includes her children, Thomas (& Rhonda) Hite, Sr. of South Bend, Troy Hite of Marquette, Michigan, and Wednesday May Hite of North Manchester, Indiana; grandchildren Zachariah, Joey, Julianne, Ashley Nichole, Thomas, Jr., Nicholas Allen, Gregory Matthew, and Jesse James; Debbie’s brother, Kenneth D. Coleman of Niles, and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Deborah Arnold will gather to share memories and honor her life on a later date at her graveside in Mission Hills. Arrangements were made at the Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Home, 615 East Main Street in Niles.
