David Snodgrass

David L. Snodgrass, 66 of Niles, Michigan died on Saturday, January 30, 2016 unexpectedly, but of natural causes. He was born September 27, 1949 in LaPorte, Indiana to James R. Sr. and Shirley (Kanous) Snodgrass.

David graduated from Brandywine High School in 1969. He worked for Clark Equipment and the Kawneer Company in Niles for a short time following high school. David delivered chemicals and serviced x-ray processors for local hospitals from Niles to Chicago. Throughout his adult life, David drove truck, most recently for J.B Hunt Company for over 17 years. He received two, and was working on his third MILLION MILE Safe Driving Award.

Surviving family includes David’s mother, Shirley Snodgrass of Niles, David’s twin brother, Daniel ( Linda) Snodgrass of Galien, sisters, Sandy (Jean McNees) Snodgrass of Stevensville and Susan (Steven) Manges of Osceola, Indiana, brother James Jr. (Deb) Snodgrass of South Bend, brother Greg (& Stephanie) Snodgrass of Buchanan; step-brothers & sisters: Evelyn (& Rube) Runyan of North Liberty, Indiana; David (& Helga) Platz of Mishawaka, Indiana; Joyce (& Charles) Eaglebarger of South Bend; Ruth (& Marvin) Reihle of Osceola; Larry (& Cindy) Platz of Osceola; Mary (& Thad) Jones of Bremen, Indiana; John Platz of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James, Sr., a sister, Sharon Snodgrass, an infant brother James Michael Snodgrass, step-mother, Faith, step-brother, Bob Platz, and step-sister Pat Mitchell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church (509 West Fourth Street) in Buchanan and will be celebrated by the Rev. Richard Altine of the church. Committal Rites will follow at Galien Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00a.m. on Saturday until the time of service at the church. Donations in memory of David may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service.
