David Wayne Brown, age 60 years of Niles, Michigan, brother, uncle, cabinetmaker, rocketeer, cabin cruiser captain, and pet parent died unexpectedly but peacefully at home of natural causes.
He was born on May 7, 1960 in San Francisco, California to Darrell W. and Cheryl L. (Luke) Brown. He was graduated from Niles High School, and continued his education at an area trade college. He was employed for many years at the former K & L Machine Manufacturing shop in Mishawaka, Indiana. He has lived in Niles most of his life.
Dave attended Huntly Memorial Baptist Church in Niles. He enjoyed building furniture in his basement workshop, and building and launching scale model rockets. He always had pet dog companions, but his greatest pleasure was the cabin cruiser that he kept at Eagle Point Harbor in Saint Joseph, Michigan always ready to go out on Lake Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell on July 14, 2019 and his mother, Cheryl on March 28, 2020, and by several aunts and uncles.
Dave is survived by his wife, the former Rosa Celdano who lives in Trujillo, La Libertad, Peru and by his brothers, Kenneth (& Beth) Brown of Columbus, Ohio and Arthur (& Feyza) Brown of Cassopolis, Michigan; a nephew, Greg Brown and niece, Kristina Brown; and an uncle, Gerald (& Pearl Lee) Brown of Mattawan, Michigan.
The family of David Brown will gather privately to share memories and honor his life. David moved quietly through life studying creation by caring for his dogs, finding the pleasing grain in lumber for furniture, poking at the law of gravity with his rockets, and cruising the currents and waves of Lake Michigan, all of which reflects the glory of The Creator.
