Craig Vogelsang

December 28, 1962 — June 22, 2022

Craig Allan Vogelsang, 59 of Niles, passed away after a long and courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Craig was born on December 28, 1962 in Niles to the late Charles and Sandra (Raven) Vogelsang. He is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sophie Grace and his brother, Charles Vogelsang.

Surviving Craig are his wife Julie Vogelsang, his children; Heather (Christopher) Anthony of Ponchatoula, LA, Jake Presley of Plainfield, IN, step-children; Destiny of Chicago and Jolene Neese of Chicago, grandchildren; Alyxus Collins of Ponchatoula, LA, Kenneth Collins, Jr. of Cleveland, TX and Avery Presley, his brothers, Mark Moore of Nevada, Randall Moore of Green Coats Springs. FL, Chris (Peggy) Moore of Orange Park, FL, Neil Majors and his sister, Cristine Vogelsang of Clarksville, TN and his special cousin, Phyllis Russell and a Life long friend Billie Nichols, as well as many other extended family.

Craig was a roofer for many years.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles, drinking beer, cooking out and fishing.  Craig was a man who loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved his family and Heather said he was her biggest supporter and fan. It’s comforting to know that in his final months of living, Craig accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

In keeping with Craig’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Craig’s life tomorrow, Friday, June 24 at Niles Township Park, 1505 Bond St. Niles.  They ask that you join them beginning at 2:00pm at the park.  If you have a motorcycle, please bring it. A Final Ride in Craig’s honor will begin at 3:00pm at the park.
