Christine J. Armstrong

Christine Joyce Armstrong, 92, of South Bend, died peacefully Monday, March 11, 2024 in the comfort of her family’s presence. 

    Her life began June 19, 1931 in Prongo, Virginia the youngest of eight children born to Early and Mary Carroll.

    Christine will be greatly missed by family and friends.   She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Humphrey of South Bend, Helen (Keith) York of Buchanan, Wanda Walczewski of Niles; two sons, John Armstrong of Cassopolis, Michael Armstrong of South Bend; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Kristi York; one grandson, Daniel Stopper; five sisters, and two brothers.

     Family and friends will gather Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. in Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Services, 615 East Main Street, Niles.
