Mr. Chris A. Clubine, age 55 years of Niles, Michigan, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Michigan, following a motor vehicle accident.
He was born on February 2, 1958 in South Bend, Indiana to Donald E. and Patricia P. (Skopec) Clubine. He graduated from Niles High School, and from Lake Michigan College, and lived in this area all of his life. He was employed as a Senior Design Engineer at the Eagle Technologies Group, a Hanson Company, in Bridgman, Michigan.
Chris was a charter member of Saint Boniface Evangelical Lutheran Church in Niles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at the family cabin in Manistee National Forest, and he enjoyed golfing; but his greatest interest was the church.
On August 25, 1979 in Niles he married the former Janet M. Libey, with whom he celebrated last Sunday the thirty-fourth anniversary of their wedding.
Surviving family includes his wife, Janet Clubine and their daughter, Melissa (& Timothy) Lilley of Laurel, Maryland; Chris’s father, Donald Clubine of Niles, and brothers and sister, twins James (& Marie) Clubine of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Russell (& Joann Townsend) Clubine of Boyne City, Michigan, Andrew Clubine of Niles, and Jane Clubine of Indianapolis, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and Janet’s father, Ernest Libey of Niles, and sister Carol (& Jon) Shultz of South Bend.
The funeral service for Chris Clubine will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with The Reverend John S. Rutowicz of Saint Boniface Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Committal will follow at the graveside at Mission Hills.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Chris may be made to Saint Boniface Evangelical Lutheran Church.
