Carolyn Goodman

Carolyn Karasek Goodman, 84 of Niles passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 17 in her home.

Carolyn was born on January 9, 1935 in Dowagiac to the late James and Sally Karasek.

On September 13, 1958 she married Richard L. ‘Skip’ Goodman who passed away in 1999.  She is also preceded in death by her son Kenny Goodman and her sister Jeannie Gowen.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters; Kris Goodman of Niles and Kelly (Kerston) Russell of Mundelein, Il. She is also survived by her siblings; Marilyn Seitz, Margo Younger, Eileen Houser, Jim Karasek, Tom Karasek, David Karasek and Chris True.

Carolyn was a dedicated volunteer at the Niles Scream Park for over 30 years.   She was active in the Olde Boys Toys Car Club and enjoyed riding motorcycles.  Carolyn liked NASCAR, bowling and riding snowmobiles.  She also enjoyed camping and traveling.  Carolyn was a kind-hearted person who would help anyone who needed help.

Visitation for Carolyn will be on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 4pm-7pm in Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home 615 E. Main St. Niles.  A funeral service will be recited on Monday, July 22 at 11:00 am in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
