Beverly Jacobs

Beverly Jean Jacobs, age 70 years of Niles, Michigan died at 9:41 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana following a brief illness.

She was born on May 6, 1946 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to John D. and Berniece (Benson) Walker. She was graduated from Niles High School, and has lived here most of her life. She was employed for many years at the former Niles plant of Simplicity Pattern Company, and had more recently been working for a security company at the University of Notre Dame.

Bev enjoyed flower gardening, mushroom hunting, and her pet American Eskimo Dogs (Spitz). She had traveled throughout the United States and sailed on several cruise ships, but her greatest interest was her family – and especially the grandkids.

Surviving family includes her daughters, CW3 Michele (& Sid II) Clark, U.S.Army, Retired of Edgewater, Maryland and Sherry Lintz of Niles; grandchildren Richele (& Tommy) Nicholson, Brian Jacobs, Keith Lintz II, Marla (& Patrick) Stiffler, TSgt Joseph (& Bo) Romero, U.S.Air Force, Genevieve (& Zachery) Lind, and Sid Clark III; great-grandchildren Kaydence, Kylie, Aiden, Jonah, Breanna, Eliana, and Lucy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by three sisters, Shirley Bellman, Marilyn Chapman, and 2 year old Norma Jean Walker who died in 1932.

The funeral service for Beverly Jacobs will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Robert Jackson of the First Church of God officiating. Committal will follow at the Morris Chapel Cemetery in Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Bev may be made to the Morris Chapel Cemetery Fund, or to your local SPCA.
