Beverly Herman

Beverly J. Herman, age 84 years of Niles, Michigan died at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana following a brief illness.

She was born on July 27, 1928 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Lloyd J. and Bertha (Wesner) Herman. She was graduated from Niles High School, and has lived here all of her life. She was employed in the offices of the former First National Bank of Niles, and retired from its successor, 5/3 Bank after forty-four years of service.

Miss Herman was a member of the Business and Professional Women, and the Friday Night Book Club. She enjoyed her perennial flowers and vegetable garden. She had also enjoyed traveling, having visited all fifty states including Alaska and Hawaii, and Europe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Bertha Wesner.

Surviving family includes her brother, John Herman of Niles.

The funeral service for Beverly Herman will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church in Niles officiating. Committal services will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Miss Herman may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service, 7301 Red Arrow Highway, Stevensville, Michigan 49127.
