Betty J. Snouwaert age 93, of Niles passed away at her home on September 16, 2024
She was born on September 24,1930 in Sugarbush Wisconsin; the daughter of Jacob and Helen Leick.
Betty was known to be both strong and caring. Her faith was important to her, and she would regularly be in church early. Betty, along with her husband, would plan big family events. She loved to cook and especially bake, making amazing donuts and rolls. Betty spent her career as a beautician, and she enjoyed making stylish hairdos for her girls when they were young. She kept expenses low by gardening and canning just about everything. Later in life, she found joy in mowing the yard. But most of all she loved being with her family.
Betty is survived by; her five daughters, Jacqueline A. Snouwaert, Beth A. Snouwaert, Kathy S. (Jim) Ingle, Tanna J. Snouwaert, Kimberly M. Snouwaert all of Niles; one son, David C. Snouwaert of Niles; one grandson, Joshua (Mariah) Ingle; one granddaughter, Lisa (Duncan) Schlutt; five great grandchildren, Paislie, Jensen, Bostinn, Everlie, Ledger; sister- in- law, Sadie Leick and Susie Fink.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2006, her great grandson Harlan, two sisters and two brothers.
The family of Betty J. Snouwaert will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday September 24, 2024, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church 1340 Sycamore St, Niles, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Barz officiating. The Committal will be at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend at 1:30 p.m.
