She was born on May 15, 1933 in Buchanan, Michigan to Donald Dean and Daisy Dale (Snyder) Clemans. She attended Buchanan schools, and has lived in this area most of her life. She was employed for forty years at the former Niles plant of Simplicity Pattern Company, and was a member of the Teamster’s Union. In retirement, she lived for several years in Florida before returning to Niles.
Betty enjoyed bowling on area leagues and fishing – usually “up north”. She also enjoyed visiting casinos; and wherever she found herself, she enjoyed meeting new friends..
On July 15, 1950 in Saint Joseph County, Indiana she married George Neidlinger, Jr. who preceded her in death on April 22, 2006. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna L. Hamilton on May 2, 2010 and a son, Michael G. Neidlinger, Sr. on February 22, 2011; and her brothers, Don Clemans, Jr., Jim Clemans, and Jack Clemans.
Surviving family includes her grandchildren, Jonas Hamilton, Angela (& James) Moore, Lisa (& John) Densmore, and Michael (& Hyesung) Neidlinger, Jr.; great-grandchildren Justin, Claudia, Lilly, Alex, Claire, Logan, Julian, and Jaden; Betty’s sisters, Melody Weaver and Onlee Clemans both of Buchanan and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Betty Neidlinger is planning a memorial dinner – which will be announced at a later date - to honor her life and share memories.
