Betty Goodman

Betty Jean Goodman, age 87 years of Niles, Michigan died on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac following a brief illness. She was born May 4, 1927 in Winefield, Kansas to Lester and Hazel (Abbott) Smith. In September of 1962, Betty married Gaylord “Bud” Goodman, he preceded her in death in 2009. Betty was also preceded in death by her siblings.

Betty drove a school bus for both the Niles Community and Eau Claire Public Schools for over 25 years. She then drove for the Niles Dial-A-Ride Service for several more years.

Betty is survived by her two sons, Howard Goodman of Niles and Dallas Merrill of Niles; her two daughters, Jayne Merrill of Great Falls, Montana and Jean Vicini of Berrien Springs, Michigan, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family has gathered privately for services. Interment has taken place at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
