Axl Vanlaecke

Axl James VanLaecke, age 5 months, 3 weeks died on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his home in Niles. He was born March 28, 2014 in South Bend to Arthur VanLaecke and Jessica Sheffield, who survive with Axl’s twin sister, Adrianna and siblings Riley Skoda of Niles and David “DJ” Bagwell of Colorado. Also surviving are maternal grandparents, Jim & Linda Sheffield; paternal grandparents, Art & Terri VanLaecke, all of Niles and paternal great-grandmother, Elsie Townsend, of Moultrie, Georgia and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services for Axl James VanLaecke will be held at 11:00a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles with the Rev. Fran Lane-Lawrence of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment to follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.

Donations in memory of Axl may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or to the March of Dimes Foundation.
