Arthur Leroy Vogelsang III, age 52 years of Niles, Michigan died at 12:11 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home following an extended illness.
He was born on February 2, 1964 in Niles to Arthur Leroy and Brenda Kay (Stephens) Vogelsang, and lived here all of his life. He attended Niles Community Schools. He was employed for many years at M&M Railroad Construction in Niles, and was also on the staff at the Four Flags Hotel.
He enjoyed fishing in the Saint Joseph River, watching profession wrestling on the television, and completing puzzles of many styles including word search and jigsaw. He was a capable coloring-book artist, long before the current adult interest in this pursuit. He was always ready – and able – to help relatives and friends who needed it.
Surviving family includes his siblings, Lisa Kay Roberts of Peru, Indiana, Terry Dewane (& Brenda Adkins) Vogelsang of Niles, and Phyllis JoAnn (& Marc) Russell of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
The family of Arthur Vogelsang III is gathering privately to honor his life and share memories. Committal will be in the Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.
Contributions to assist with the cemetery expenses of Arthur may be sent to the Chemical Bank, Brenda Adkins account. Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
