Anthony J. Michienzi, age 94 years of Niles, Michigan died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Buchanan Meadow in Buchanan, Michigan, of natural causes.
He was born on September 14, 1920 in Niles, Michigan to Joseph and Elizabeth (Ponesa) Michienzi. He lived in Niles all his life, and was employed at the Cook Nuclear Plant.
On May 21, 1948 in Angola, Indiana he married the former Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Gard with whom he celebrated the Fifty-second anniversary of their wedding prior to her death on October 23, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his son, Anthony Michienzi who died on September 23, 1978, and siblings, Josephine Consetta Michienzi, Veronica Frucci, Anna Vincent, and Thomas Michienzi.
Surviving family includes his brother Vito Michienzi.
The family of Tony Michienzi is gathering for committal rites at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Mission Hills, read by Deacon Roger Gregorski of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles.
