Anne Antos

Anne M. Antos passed away on May 13, 2020, at the age of 79. She was born on Feb. 23, 1941 in Endicott, NY, to John Margetanski and Anna (Polak) Margetanski. She married William J. Antos on July 3, 1963 at Fr. Kobbe, Panama Canal, and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage before his passing.

Anne is survived by her sons: Joseph (Cynthia) Antos of Niles, MI; William (Pam) Antos of Hilliard, OH; and Robert (Ann) Antos of Angola, IN; as well as eight grandchildren: Geoffrey, Heather, Johnny, Christopher, Nick, Audreyana, Milena, and Elijah; three brothers; Andrew Margetanski of Charlotte NC; John (Dee) Margetanski of Endicott, NY; and William (Marlene) Margetanski of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and sister-in-law Lillian Antos. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law John Antos.

Anne graduated from the State University of N.Y. at Albany in June of 1963 with a B.A. in secondary mathematics. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church for over 50 years. For many years, she and Bill spent winters in Florida and summers enjoying camp-outs with friends.

Anne enjoyed collecting recipes, cooking, baking, reading, and most of all, playing cards and board games. She especially enjoyed and was very proud of all of her grandchildren. Anne’s cookies were a staple of every family gathering, and her nickname was “Cookie,” an apt tribute to her legendary baking skills.

Contributions in memory of Anne can be made to the Niles Community Library, Cass Library (Oak St in Niles) or the Humane Society.
