Anna Mae Fletcher, age 87 years of Niles, Michigan died on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana.
She was born on January 25, 1927 in Niles, Michigan to Dominick J. and Antonette “Trina” Frucci. She was graduated from Niles High School in 1945 and has lived in Niles all her life.
Anna was a waitress at the former B&L Inn in Niles, as well as other local restaurants. She enjoyed baking and cooking Italian-style food with her family, especially ravioli. She also enjoyed visiting Vegas, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Anna lived a long, happy life. She did her best.
On February 28, 1947 in Niles she married Frank Fletcher, Sr. with whom she celebrated the forty-second anniversary of their wedding prior to Frank’s death on October 6, 1989.
Anna was also preceded in death by her brother Rosario “Roy” Frucci who died Jan. 24, 2003 and her companion Richard E. Forler, who died March 31, 1999.
Surviving family includes her children, Michael (& Sandy) Fletcher of Granger, Indiana, Frank (& Mary) Fletcher, Jr. of Niles, Rebecca (& Joe) Hulett of Niles, Jeff (& Kelly) Fletcher of Buchanan, Teresa (& Don) Hines of Dowagiac, and Joel (& Elena) Fletcher of Niles, along with six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and her sister Mary Jane Wagner of Midland.
The funeral service for Anna M. Fletcher will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday August 22, 2014 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.
The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Contributions in memory of Anna may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Hospice at Home.
